More Recognition for Spirit Lake’s Bolluyt

Spirit Lake football coach Josh Bolluyt is receiving yet another honor for the accomplishments of the Indians this past fall. The Iowa Football Coaches Association has named Bolluyt the Class 1A/2A Region 1 Coach of the Year. Bolluyt and the Indians set a school record with 13 wins in 2011, going undefeated until their loss in the Class 2A title game against Regina, Iowa City. Following the season, Bolluyt was also given coach of the year honors by the Iowa Sports Connection and the Sioux City Journal.

In his four years at Spirit Lake, Bolluyt has an overall record of 22-20, leading the Indians to the program’s first outright district title, first playoff victories, and first trip to the championship in Cedar Falls.
