Miner To Wrestle Collegiately At Iowa

Spirit Lake High School
senior Doug Miner, a three-time state wrestling champion, has chosen to wrestle
collegiately at the University
of Iowa, next year.

Miner made the commitment last week, and says that becoming
a Hawkeye was always his top choice.

He was 45-4, with 31 pins, this past season.  As a junior, he went 49-0.

He closed out his high school career with a 1-0 win over Shadow
Leshen, of Albion, in the 120-pound state
title match.

He selected Iowa over Wartburg College
in Waverly, the University of Minnesota, and Grand
View University,
in Des Moines.
