Milestone RAGBRAI Underway in NW Iowa




More than 10,000 bicyclists began a week-long journey
through small towns and cornfields over the weekend, as the Register’s Annual
Great Bike Ride Across Iowa got underway for a 40th time. The
world’s oldest, longest, and largest bike race opened Saturday in Sioux Center,
and has come a long way since its inception, according to director T.J.

RAGBRAI features seven-legs and totals 471 miles between its
northwest Iowa sendoff and the finish line in Clinton, though

Along this year’s route, towns and cities across Iowa will welcome the
thousands of riders and even more supporters with open arms, often tripling a
town’s size for a day. Some stops will even include some high-end
