Lakers Volleyball Falls in 2nd Round of NCJAA Championships

The Iowa Lakes Community College volleyball team entered the 2010 National Junior College Athletic Association’s Volleyball Championships as the No. 1 overall seed, and opened with a three-game sweep over Genesee Community College of New York (25-14, 25-22, 25-12). However, in the second round, the Lakers would fall in four games. After winning the opening set 25-21, Pasco Hernando Junior College streaked to wins in the next three games for the match (21-25, 25-15, 25-21, 25-23). Iowa Lakes now drops to the losers bracket where they will play a familiar foe, Kirkwood Community College at 2:30pm Friday. The winner will advance to the fifth-place game on Saturday. Iowa Lakes defeated Kirkwood once already this season, a 3-1 win on October 22.
