The Iowa Lakes softball team took full advantage of getting two games to record one victory, as it defeated Iowa Central to grab their second Division II Region 11 crown in three years. The teams combined for three hits in game one, which Iowa Central escaped with a 1-0 win, forcing the decisive game two. ILCC fell behind 5-0 early, but the Lakers scored four in the third inning, tied it up in the fourth, then freshman Julia Rubek put Iowa Lakes on top with a solo home run to left center for the 6-5 win. Fellow freshman Julia Nealer won her 27th game of the season. Iowa Lakes will host the Nebraska Region winner on Thursday and Friday for the right to go to Nationals.
