The Iowa Lakes Men’s Golf team was in action for the final round of the Region XI golf tournament held in Fort Dodge, IA. After being in 4th place after day one and 11 shots out of the lead the Lakers posted the daily low of 320 on day two and moved up to 2nd place for the tournament 10 shots behind Regional Champion NIACC. For the Lakers they were lead by Sophomores Scott Kremer and Nathan Spoo. Kremer shot a 162 while Spoo shot a 163 for a two day total. Ryan Stevens shot a 165 while Adam Oster shot a 168. Josh Ellanson shot a 172. The Lakers finish the season with a 66-43 match record having the most wins in school history in a season.
“I’m pround of the way the men battled all year, the men went from 4th to 2nd for the tournament and fought back strong. The 4 sophomores of Scott Kremer, Nathan Spoo, Adam Oster, and Davis Jacobson have been great to have around and and they will be successful with their lives and I wish them nothing but the best, they will be missed,” said Coach Soper.
