The Class 1A Girls Basketball Tournament got underway on Thursday night and the Harris-Lake Park Lady Wolves knocked off Graettinger-Terril 54-50 at home to advance to the second round. The Wolves led by 13 with seven minutes to go but an 18-5 run by the Knights tied the game at 50. It took Christine Larson’s only 2nd half points coming with under half a minute remaining to put HLP up for good. Deni Peters led all scorers with 23 points while Larson had 13. Morgan Matthews led Graettinger-Terril with 12. HLP will host its 2nd round contest on Tuesday night, taking on Clay Central Everly.
