Knights and Raiders Combining to Form New-Look Titans

On Monday night, area schools Graettinger-Terril and Ruthven-Ayrshire will share high school sports for the next half-dozen years. According to a press release, both school districts formally and mutually approved a six-year sports sharing agreement that begins in the fall of 2012.

The release states that the “purpose…is for both schools to commit to providing quality sports programs for its students”. The agreement will impact all state sanctioned sports supported by both schools in grades 7-12.

As decided upon by both student bodies, the sports programs will be known as the GT-RA Titans, and will don uniforms with purple, black, and silver.

“The districts would like to thank the communities, parents, students, and staff for their continued support of the students they serve,” says the release.

Graettinger-Terril and Ruthven-Ayrshire become the latest co-operative effort between area schools competing in the Cornbelt Conference. Earlier this year, North Sentral Kossuth and Armstrong-Ringsted agreed to share teams under the name North Union Warriors.
