Former Spirit Lake standout and current UNI forward Amber Kirschbaum has been recognized for her hard work both on and off the basketball court this season. The junior has been named to the All-Missouri Valley Conference Scholar-Athlete second-team. Kirschbaum has averaged 9.4 points and 7.2 rebounds for the Panthers this season, collecting four double-doubles along the way. She leads UNI in rebounding, is second in blocks, and third in steals. In the classroom, Kirschbaum owns a 3.75 cumulative GPA in Movement and Exercise Science. She has played in all 95 games since her arrival in Cedar Falls for the 2009-2010 season.
