Dominant pitching by Okoboji led the Pioneers to a 5-0
shutout win over county rival Harris-Lake
Park on Tuesday. Senior
Zach Jones scattered a pair of hits and walks, while striking out fourteen
batters en route to the win. The Pioneers broke a scoreless game in the fourth with two
runs, then added two more in the fifth, and another in the sixth. Connor
Gunderson and Nathan Kyle recorded the two hits for the Wolves. Colin Brons
took the loss despite striking out eleven batters. Harris-Lake Park
is 0-2 to start the season and plays at Sioux Central on Thursday. The Pioneers
are 2-0 and play at Siouxland Conference foe Sheldon on Wednesday.

Estherville Lincoln Central dropped a home, non-conference
game to MOC-Floyd
Valley by an 8-6 margin.
The Midgets had the bases loaded in the seventh, but failed to plate any more
runs. They are 0-4 this season.
Graettinger-Terril/Ruthven-Ayrshire scratched out a narrow
7-6 victory over Pocahontas Area/Pomeroy-Palmer to improve to 2-1. In the War
Eagle, Hartley-Melvin-Sanborn lost for the first time this season, dropping a
two-run contest at Marcus-Meridan-Cleghorn, 3-1. The Hawks are 3-1. And North
Union lost to Clear
Lake, 8-6.
