Jackson County Central successfully defended their state co-championship from last year with an outright title in the Class A State Team Dual Tournament in St. Paul on Thursday. The Huskies opened with a quarterfinal win over Pierz, 52-15, and then followed with a 46-25 take down of Badger/Greenbush-Middle River in the semifinals. The title dual pit top-ranked JCC against #2 Kimball. Although the teams split the weight classes with seven wins a piece, however, Jackson County Central tallied more points for the 35-28 win. Jordan Bieham (126), Paden Moore (145), Luke Norland (152), and Alex Tewes (220) all registered wins by fall. Cooper Moore (170) earned a tech fall victory, while Keegan Moore (138) and Darick Vancura (160) each won via decision. JCC finished 25-3 on the season.
For their efforts, Paden Moore, Norland, Vancura, and Cooper Moore all earned spots on the Class A All-Tournament Team.
