High school basketball continues over the holiday break in Minnesota, and Tuesday night the boys and girls teams from Jackson County Central both suffered setbacks. The Huskies dropped the opener of the boys tournament hosted by Blue Earth, falling 69-50 to United South Central. Blue Earth won the other first round match up over Granada-Huntley-East Chain, 55-53. The JCC girls were not part of any tournament, however, the Huskies lost to Waterville-Elysian-Morristown, 64-57.
Elsewhere, Fairmont topped St. Clair in the first round of the Bethany College Tournament, 65-48. At the Mountain Lake/Butterfield-Odin Hoops Tournament, Round Lake-Brewster fell 66-38 against Truman, while MLBO topped Mountain Lake Christian, 69-43.
