It could be
a banner year athletically on the campuses of Iowa Lakes Community College this
coming school year. The Lakers, who boast 16 athletic teams and programs, will
dress an unprecedented number of student athletes in blue and gold, according
to Director of Athletics Troy Larson…(comment from Larson).
Larson
credits the individuals at the top of ILCC for allowing the growth to happen.
He says a commitment to improving and expanding athletic facilities has allowed
Lakers athletics to keep up in the “collegiate arms race”…(comment from Larson).
At the
moment, Larson does not foresee any additional growth athletically at Iowa
Lakes, after adding two more fresh programs to the list for this year…(comment from Larson)
Larson and
the rest of the Laker coaches are now building their focus around recruiting
more local athletes, and strengthening their ties with area high schools and
communities. For more on Iowa Lakes Community College athletics, check out www.iowalakes.edu/laker_athletics/
