Indians Win to Split Series With Tigers, CCE Tops HLP (Baseball)

Spirit Lake also split the season series with Spencer on the baseball diamond after taking last night’s contest 10-6. Mitch Peschon was 3-for-4 with three runs driven in and Paul Brown took the win. Drake Swanson paced the Tigers with four RBI on 3-of-4 hitting, which included a two-run homer. The Indians improve to 10-10 on the season, which surpasses last season’s win total. They are also 5-6 in the Lakes Conference. Spencer drops to 10-10 as well, and 6-4 in the conference. Spirit Lake’s non-conference matchup with Armstrong-Ringsted this evening has switched locations, as it will now be played in Spirit Lake at 5:30 and will be a varsity only affair. The move was made to accommodate those from both schools who wanted to hear former Hawkeye and Super Bowl Champion Dallas Clark speak tonight at the SAMI Center beginning at 8:00.

Also last night, Clay Central-Everly topped Harris-Lake Park in Cornbelt Conference action by a 12-2 final.
