Indians Win Rivarly Matchup with HLP (Boys Basketball RoundUp)

A low scoring boys basketball game between county rivals went the way of Spirit Lake in a 38-31 decision over Harris-Lake Park on Thursday night. Seniors Mitch Peschon and Tayler Acton led all scorers with 14 and eight points, respectively, for the Indians. Harris-Lake Park, which had four chances to make free throws to pull even or take the lead in the fourth quarter and missed them all, received seven points from Eli Ihnen and six from Brady Nissen. The loss drops the Wolves to 8-2 overall as they head back into Cornbelt Conference play at Twin River Valley tonight. Spirit Lake improves to 4-6 and travels to Emmetsburg this evening for a Lakes Conference doubleheader with the EHawks. We’ll have both games on KUOO Campus Radio and online at www.network1sports.com beginning just after six.

Rock Valley got the best of the Spencer boys last night with a 65-47 win on the Tigers home floor. Austin Hansen was the lone player in double figures for Spencer with twelve points. The Tigers are now 2-7 on the season. Spencer heads to Western Christian tonight for doubleheader, which can be heard on Y100. It will be a simulcast from KSOU in Sioux Center.
