The Spirit Lake Park wrestling team made an impressive showing at Day One of the two day Battle Creek/Ida Grove tournament. The hosts, OA-BCIG, are in first with 54 points, while the Indians sit in second, two points back. Doug Miner (103), Zach Skopec (112), David Trucksess (125), Dylan Bryce (130), Rick Maris (152), and Andrew Broocks (215) have all wrestled their way into the championship brackets of their respective weight classes. SLP has five others still alive in the consolation brackets.
