Indians Snap Losing Skid

Spirit Lake, fresh off back-to-back losses for the first time this year, finished out a tough three-game stretch hosting Minnesota state qualifier Worthington on Monday night. It quickly became a slugfest with Spirit Lake holding a five point advantage at half, Worthington going up eight after three quarters, and Spirit Lake outscoring the Trojans 17-9 in the 4th to force overtime. From there, the Indians would run snapping the skid with a 64-57 victory. Mary Brown, who had scored 17 points combined during the losing streak, knocked down 17 to lead the Indians while freshman KJ Veldman put in 16 on 7-13 shooting. The Indians (10-4) get set for a conference matchup with Emmetsburg on Friday night.
