Indians Need OT While Wolves Roll (Girls Basketball RoundUp)

Regulation was not enough time for Spencer and Spirit Lake to decide their Lakes Conference girls matchup Tuesday night, and in overtime the Indians escaped with a 42-36 victory. KJ Veldman drained four triples on her way to a game-high 20 points. Alli Gerking was 8-of-11 at the free throw line to give her thirteen points and push the Indians to 9-3 overall and 6-2 in the league. Spencer’s top scorer was Ashley Williamson with thirteen points, including a bucket with ten-seconds to play in the fourth quarter to send it to overtime tied at 33. The Tigers are now 6-6 on the year and 3-4 in the Lakes.

A resounding win in the Cornbelt Conference on Tuesday night for the Harris-Lake Park girls, as they defeated Armstrong-Ringsted 46-17 in Lake Park. Anna Brandt banged home 25 points to pace the now 9-4 Wolves.

Okoboji hung tough in a Siouxland Conference showdown, but ultimately fell short in a 49-39 loss to George-Little Rock. Paisley Jones registered 14 points to led the Pioneers, who are now 3-11 overall and 1-10 in the conference. They travel to Emmetsburg on Thursday.
