Playing in the Sheldon tournament, the Spirit Lake bats came to life in two blowout victories. The Indians first defeated Sioux Center 10-0 behind a three-hit, five-RBI performance from Amanda Bueltel. Bailee Newman scored three times and Care Vale threw a complete game for the win. The offense really heated up in their second game, as Spirit Lake pounded out 21 runs against George-Little Rock to win by eight. The Indians improve to 5-4 and continue tournament play on Saturday.
In the Cornbelt, Graettinger-Terril/Ruthven-Ayrshire tallied a 9-5 decision over Clay Central-Everly, and North Union blew by CWL in sweeping a twin bill with wins of 12-0 and 14-1.
