Despite cold, wet, and windy conditions, the boys golf teams from Spirit Lake, Emmetsburg and Storm Lake still competed in a Lakes Conference triangular on the Tornadoes home track Thursday. In the end, Storm Lake won the competition with a 163 team total, followed by Emmetsburg at 184 and Spirit Lake at 189. The Tornadoes’ Ryan Gutz and Luke Anderson tied for medalist honors with rounds of 38. The Indians were paced by Matt Weeks, who shot a 40, and Scott Hummel, who carded a 45. The E-Hawks top scorer was Arthur Heidt with a 44, followed by Ben McCain at 46.
