Spirit Lake’s boys’ golf team opened the 2012 spring season with a resounding win in a home dual against North Union, picking up a 152-213 victory at Brooks National Golf Course on Monday. Medalist honors went to Tate Hanson, who defeated teammate Scott Hummel in a one-hole playoff. Both finished with one-over-par 37’s. Corey Potter was a stroke back at 38, and Zach Skopec and Matt Heaton each fired rounds of 40. North Union’s top scores came from Sawyer Doocey and Alex Dietering, as each carded a 49.
