Steve Kandborg, a sophomore second baseman for Iowa Lakes
Community College, has been named Athlete of the Week for the ICCAC for the week
of April 1.
During that time, Steve helped Iowa Lakes to a 6-0 record with wins
against Buena Vista JV and Southwestern.
Against Buena Vista’s JV on April 4th Kandborg had one run,
two hits, two RBI, a stolen base, and was hit by a pitch in the 8-3 win. In the
second game Kandborg also had two hits, and a run for the 8-2 victory.
On April 6th, Kandborg led the Lakers to a 12-4
victory over Southwestern Community College, with two hits, two RBI, and two
stolen bases. In the second game Kandborg had three hits, a run, a RBI, and a
stolen base in the 9-6 victory.

Kandborg had two hits, a run, a RBI, and was hit by a pitch to lead the Lakers
to a 5-1 win. To cap off his week Kandborg had two hits, one run, and was hit by
a pitch in the 6-2 victory.
Kandborg is hitting .354 on the season and has helped the
Lakers to get off to a 12-10 start. Iowa Lakes is back in action on Saturday
against Iowa Central at 1 pm.
