Saturday, November 12, the Iowa Lakes wrestling team traveled to Luther College to compete in Luther’s first annual open wrestling tournament. The Lakers earned over 50 wins throughout the day against top-level,four-year colleges. Noteworthy colleges that attended the tournament were Luther College, UW- La Crosse, Minnesota State, NIACC, Cornell, St. Olaf, Dubuque, Upper Iowa, Wartburg, RCTC, and more. Standout performances by the Lakers came from Nate Lawrence (165), Nick Lawrence (174), and Brock Storm (157), who all went 4-0 to win their respected weight class. Other great efforts were put in by Skyler Rice (3rd), Travis Donner (4th), Kolby Baier (5th), Thomas Moman (2nd), Jim Doyle (2nd), and Glenn Cothren (4th). The wrestling team will next head to Minneapolis, MN, for the Auggie/Adidas open November 19.
