Iowa Lakes Softball hosted Iowa
Central Community College yesterday afternoon. In game one the Lakers earned
their first conference win of the season winning 9-1 in five innings. They had
a number of players contribute from the batter’s box: Amber Holmgren was 2 for
3 with a three-run homerun in the first inning and a double in the fourth;
Morgan Zollner, Morgan Vlasman, and Jessica Ambrahamson also went 2 for 3 for
the game; and, Alexandria Frausto and Sierra Gudvangen went 1 for 2.
In game two, Iowa Lakes stayed hot from the
plate, winning 11-3 also in five innings. The Lakers were led by Rachel Hinners
who went 1 for 1 in the game with a double and 2 walks, Kristi Larson going 2
for 3 for the game with 3 RBI’s, and Amber Holmgren was 2 for 4 with the game
winning double in the fifth.
The winning pitcher for both games was Alexandria
Frausto who faced a total of 41 batters for the day; allowing only 7 hits and 4
walks for the Tritons.
The Lakers improve to 2-4 in the conference
and 7-9 overall.
