On Saturday, the Iowa High School Athletic Association is honoring the men and women who have put in significant contributions as officials of scholastic sports in the Hawkeye State. The 16th Annual Officials Awards Banquet will be held in Ames on the campus of Iowa State University. Four veteran officials from northwest Iowa will be a part of the ceremony. Troy Rosendahl of Spencer will be recognized for 15 years of service, Douglas Thompson of Storm Lake and John Schuck from Sibley will both be honored for 25 years in the business, and Paul Williams is a 35-year honoree. ISU head football coach Paul Rhodes is the featured speaker for he ceremony. In all, the ceremony will honor 77 officials for 15 years of services, 68 officials for 25 years, 37 officials for 35 years, and five officials who have made it to 50 years. Schuck will be taking his wife with him for the 6:00 event at the Gateway Center Hotel and Banquet Center in Ames.
