Minnesota area high school athletic teams continue their competitions this week. In boys basketball, Jackson County Central is the tournament champions at the Blue Earth Area Tournament, defeating United South Central 64-42. Fairmont fell in the semifinals at the Bethany College Tournament, 70-49 to Mankato Loyola. At the Mountain Lake/Butterfield-Odin Tournament, the hosts slipped past Round Lake-Brewster 54-53. And in triple overtime, Martin County West fell 67-66 to Fulda in the consolation championship game of the Windom Area Tournament.
In girls basketball, Round-Lake Brewster lost a 61-43 decision to Truman, and Jackson County Central pounded Fairmont 75-44 at the Mankato Loyola Tournament.
Over in Fargo, ND, the Huskies of Jackson County Central are competing in the Rumble on the Red wrestling meet, and after one day of competition, JCC is third in the team standings with 104.5 points.
