The length and overall talent of the defending state champion Western Christian Wolfpack were too much to overcome Tuesday night for Spirit Lake, as the Indians fell 52-30. The Indians trailed by just four after one quarter, but took a 15-point deficit into the locker room and never fully recovered. Paul Brown paced Spirit Lake with ten points. Spirit Lake drops to 2-3 in conference and 2-5 overall, with a game at Estherville-Lincoln Central coming up on Friday.
Emmetsburg kept its undefeated season alive with a 52-35 defeat of Storm Lake. Three EHawks, Cory Schultes, Ryan Kliegl, and Nick Webker, contributed a dozen points.
A hot start by MOC-Floyd Valley gave the Dutch a 19-point lead after one quarter and led to an 80-40 defeat of Okoboji in Siouxland Conference play. Bryson McCabe, Brian Dubois and Dalton Syverson all pitched in with seven points for the Pioneers. Okoboji is now winless through seven league games and will travel to Boyden-Hull on Thursday.
Harris-Lake Park outscored Graettinger-Terril 14 to five in the fourth quarter to secure another Cornbelt Conference victory, taking down rival Knights, 50-37. Brady Nissen poured in 16 points, and Eli Ihnen had eleven for the Wolves. G-T had just three players score, led by Mitch Girres with 17 and Beau Craig with eleven. HLP returns home to play West Bend-Mallard on Friday.
