Okoboji baseball had another opportunity for a Siouxland Conference win on Friday, however, George-Little Rock was the one with the notch in the win column by a 6-1 margin. Taylor Klingenberg limited the Pioneers to just three hits and registered eleven strikeouts. Okoboji, now 7-10 overall and 4-4 in the league, will host West Lyon on Monday.
Harris-Lake Park managed a split of the conference doubleheader with Woden-Crystal Lake-Titonka on Friday. The Wolves took game one 10-0 in six innings behind a seven-strikeout performance from Jake Ihnen. Colin Brons went 3-for-3 with two runs and three driven in. Tanner Hiveley had a RBI on two hits and Brady Van Iperen plated two and scored one off of his two hits. In the second game, the Tigers jumped out to a 6-0 lead and hung on for an 8-4 victory. Ryan Mann took the loss for the Wolves. Offensively, Kade Heikens was 3-for-4 with a RBI and Nathan Kyle registered two hits. HLP sits at 2-8 on the season and 1-3 in the Cornbelt Conference with a Monday doubleheader at Graettering-Terril/Ruthven-Ayrshire next.
Elsewhere on Friday, Estherville-Lincoln Central downed Sheldon, 2-1, in non-conference baseball, and Spencer tallied a Lakes Conference win by taking down Cherokee, 7-5.
