HLP Boys Improve to 11-1 With Win Over HMS

The Harris-Lake
Park boys basketball team
outscored Hartley-Melvin-Sanborn 34-9 in the first half, last night,  and never looked back, in a 63-29 victory at
Hartley.  HLP used a strong defensive
effort to force 16 HMS turnovers. Senior Eli Ihnen led the Wolves with 21
points and 4 steals. Seniors Tanner Hiveley and Colin Brons each had 13 for HLP who improves to 11-1.
The Hawks got 8 from sophomore Blake Simons. They fall to 5-7 and play at
Boyden-Hull Thursday.

HLP Coach Jeff Sohn postgame

The Hartley-Melvin-Sanborn Girls had big first and third
quarters against Harris-Lake
Park, and held off a late
Wolves rally to pick up a 58-45 win. The Hawks led by as many as 18 in the
third quarter, but HLP kept it interesting, as they cut that lead to 7 in the
fourth quarter. That would be as close as the Wolves would get, though, as they
fell to 7-6 on the year. Junior Noreen Morrow led all scorers with 17 points
and 13 rebounds. HMS had three players in double figures. Junior Katie Mills had 15 points with
12 coming in the second half. Senior Jessica Stofferan had 14 including 3-three
pointers. Senior Taylor Sweeney had 12 points and four steals. HMS improves to
4-8 and travels to Boyden-Hull on Thursday.

HLP Girls Assistant Coach Becca Bolda postgame

The Harris-Lake Park
teams get right back at it, tonight, as they pay a visit to West Bend Mallard.
