The Lakes Conference has announced its 2011 All-Conference volleyball teams, and Spirit Lake has five players receiving honors after finishing third in the league standings. Senior setter Whitney Berkland, who was tops on the team with 501 set assists and 57 services aces, received first team honors. Joining her on that list is junior outside hitter Kendra Stokke after finishing the year with a team-best 246 kills. Other first team accolades went to Spencer middle hitter Taylor Anderson and Estherville-Lincoln Central middle hitter Alyssa Johnson, a senior. Anderson, a junior, was a unanimous selection.
The Indians also placed sophomore Bailey Loveall on the conference’s second team. The middle hitter registered a team-high 62 blocks and was second in kills with 173. Joining Loveall on the second team is ELC junior outside hitter Paige Guge, Spencer senior libero Maddie Conley, and Emmetsburg senior middle hitter Paige Naig.
Honorable mention honors were given to Spirit Lake senior outside hitter Alexa Rodawig and junior outside hitter/setter Paige Krause.
