Emmetsburg’s Wellik is Athlete of the Week

This week’s Central Bank and Insurance Athlete of the Week
is Andrew Wellik, a senior on the Emmetsburg
High School football team.  The 5’11, 200 pound running back has been an
integral part of the E-Hawks’ march to this Saturday’s Class 1A State
Semi-Final game.

In Round One of the playoffs, on Oct. 24, Wellik went over
the 2,000 yard mark for the season as he gained 145 yards, and scored three
touchdowns, in Emmetsburg’s 41-0 win over Ridgeview.

He followed that up by rushing for 357 yards and four
touchdowns, last Monday, in their 28-0 Round Two win over Ft. Dodge St. Edmond.

Emmetsburg registered another big win, Friday, by beating
IKM-Manning, 55-7.  Wellik led the way
with 279 yards rushing, and five touchdowns.
