Emmetsburg would pound out 10 hits and hold off a
late Western Christian rally to beat the wolfpack 4 – 3 in lakes conference
softball on Wednesday in Hull. The game was tied 2 – 2 after 3 innings, when
Emmetsburg would score another one in the 6th inning for an insurance run. They
would need that run as HWC would get back to back doubles to start the 7th
inning and trim the lead to 1 run. The wolfpack would eventually get runners on
at 2nd and 3rd base with just 1 out but would not score the tieing run stranding
them in scoring position.

2 – 3 and Abby Pollema was 2 – 3. The winning pitcher was Ashton Connelly going
7 innings giving up 3 runs (1 earned) on 7 hits allowed while striking out 8 and
walking 3.
