The last time the Spirit
Lake girls team was in
action, they were without K.J. Veldman, their top scorer, who was out with a
leg injury, during a 70-36 loss at Estherville-Lincoln Central. Here’s coach Rick Reinking.
Reinking on Veldman’s recovery
Reinking says he’s hopeful the team used its practice time
effectively, over the holiday break, so the players can get acclimated to
having to make up for the loss of Veldman.
Reinking on playing without KJ
Clay Central-Everly is home, tonight, against Laurens-Marathon. South O’Brien is on the road against
Cherokee. Estherville-Lincoln Central
hosts LeMars.
Graettinger-Terril/Ruthven-Ayrshire travels to West Bend-Mallard.
On Monday night …
The Estherville Lincoln Central Girls team topped Jackson
County Central, 66-25, while the Jackson County Central boys beat ELC, 79-63.
The Harris-Lake Park Girls fell to Ellsworth, 55-51.
The Rock
Valley boys downed
Spencer, 65-53. The Spencer Girls were
beaten by Algona, 38-32.
The Hartley-Melvin-Sanborn boys knocked off Cherokee, 54-47. The HMS girls fell to Cherokee, 64-39.
