Comments from Spirit Lake boys coach Brad Travis:
It was an incredible night for our boys.  They stepped off the bus hungry to run as a team in a track meet after losing a few to weather here recently.  Combined we amassed 204 total team points for the night to win the breezy meet.  204 Team Points is yet another record for our Team. To accomplish that we placed in every event and won 10 of 19 events.  This was the 100th running of the Dick Barrett relays, which makes you think back to the number of athletes who have ran and competed on that track and it is utterly amazing to think that tonight we broke 7 MEET RECORDS.  Old records too… 2021, 2013, 2010, 1999, 1993, and the oldest from 1968!  54 years that 4×200 relay record had stood until tonight.

We also had many big PR’s for the night.  Some of those Highlights were Freshman Bodi Higgins winning the Discus with an 8′ PR for 118-5 (4th all-time Freshman performance), Freshman Ethan Jerge running 2 seconds faster in his 800 Twice with 2:15s, Jack Wadja Breaking into the 55s in the 400m and Qamerin Hussey splitting a 53.7 in his 400, Freshman Ethan Stecker in his 1st ever 110H race ran the 3rd fastest freshman time in school history, Ryder Sundall breaking 5 min in the 1600m while running it for the 1st time,  and Will Graves jumping out to 18′ in Long Jump breaking his PR by 2 feet!
