In high school basketball, Estherville-Lincoln Central hosted LeMars in a Lakes Conference doubleheader on Saturday. The teams would split the two games, with the second-ranked Midgets taking the girls matchup, 50-22, to remain undefeated, and the Bulldogs returning the favor, 66-37, in the boys contest to keep ELC without a win.
Elsewhere, South O’Brien swept a non-conference doubleheader with Clay Central-Everly. The Wolverines won the boys game by a 51-37 margin, and the girls game by a 69-16 final. Cherokee took both games on a twinbill at Ridge View, winning 57-51 in the boys contest and 40-35 in overtime for the girls game.
In boys only games, West Lyon topped Hills-Beaver Creek, MN, 72-63, Fairmont edged Marshall by three, 62-59, and Worthington dominated Cedar Mountain/Comfrey, 77-53.
