Estherville-Lincoln Central used suffocating defense to hold Roland-Story without a field goal for 19 minutes in Thursday’s semifinal win, 36-24. The Midgets’ Emily Kirchner then capped the win with two fast break layups. The sophomore finished with twelve points. Allie Sievert had seven points. ELC improves to 23-4 and will face undefeated and top-ranked OA-BCIG in the championship. OA-BCIG defeated Monticello 67-44. The finals will tip off Friday at 8pm in Des Moines.
The Class 1A final pits Martensdale-St. Mary’s against Ar-We-Va and will start at 6pm.
