Poor playing conditions forced Spirit Lake Indians and Estherville-Lincoln Central Midgets to switch venues yesterday, but the move did not appear to hamper the play of ELC. The Midgets came away with a 16-2 win on the baseball diamond in Spirit Lake. Levi Davis paced the Indians with two hits. Spirit Lake is now 5-7 overall and 2-4 in Lakes Conference play.
The Okoboji baseball team shutout Sibley-Ocheyedan 6-0 behind a three hit, thirteen strikeout performance from winning pitcher Ray Zalabowski. James Halbur and Mike Peterson both notched a pair of RBI as the bottom of the order stepped up for Rory Marra’s Pioneers.
Okoboji improves to 3-2 in Siouxland Conference play and 5-7 overall.
