ELC Boys Go Back-to-Back, HMS Sweeps Doubleheader (Basketball RoundUp)

The Estherville-Lincoln Central boys basketball have won three of their last four games following Saturday’s 52-42 triumph over Lake Mills. Hartley-Melvin-Sanborn claimed a doubleheader sweep over Alta/Aurelia. The boys won 62-47, and were led by Matt Queck and Casey Dorhout. The duo scored 16 points each to push the Hawks to 4-3. The girls game was a 40-25 decision in favor of HMS, snapping a two-game losing streak and sending the Hawks to a 5-3 record. MOC-Floyd Valley has bragging rights in Orange City, taking both games of a twinbill against cross-town rival Unity Christian. The Dutch took the boys game, 84-58, and the girls matchup by a 63-32 margin. Western Christian and Sioux Center split their non-conference doubleheader. The Warriors upset the top-ranked Wolfpack, 77-55, in the boys contest, with Western Christian earning a 64-42 decision in the girls. And in boys only basketball, South O’Brien topped Correctionville/River Valley, 47-43.
