EHawks Control Rematch With Hawks, Advance to Quarters (Playoff Football RoundUp)

The Emmetsburg EHawks are now within one game of playing in the UNI-Dome following Monday night’s 35-21 Class 1A playoff victory over Hartley-Melvin-Sanborn. Andrew Wellik scored twice on 160 yards rushing for the EHawks, who also saw Brady Berkland and Cory Schultes cross the goalline. HMS received 154 yards and a score from Justin Wohlert, an effort that included a 98-yard run to paydirt. Quarterback Cade Harvey threw two TD passes to Cody Leng, as part of a 166-yard evening. Emmetsburg, now 11-0, held the Hawks to just 55 yards in the first half as they built a 20-0 lead. Hartley-Melvin-Sanborn finishes the season 8-3. Next up for the EHawks is a quarterfinal game with district rival West Lyon on Monday, November 8. That game will be carried live on Y100 and at ExploreOkoboji.com.

Two other area teams will revisit their matchup from earlier this season when Armstrong-Ringsted and Graettinger-Terril meet in the quarterfinals later this week. GT defeated Remsen-Union 48-32, while AR took down Newell-Fonda 49-20. The Knights and Mustangs will play Friday, November 5 for the right to go to the UNI-Dome.
