It was sectional semifinal Saturday north of the border in high school football in the state of Minnesota. Jackson County Central hosted Luverne in Class AA, but the #2-seed Huskies would fall in a low-scoring 12-0 contest, ending their season at 7-3 overall. Luverne advances to Friday’s final against Blue Earth, who defeated Maple River, 48-20. The Class AAA, Section 3 final will feature Fairmont after the Cardinals disposed of Montevideo, 33-7. Fairmont, at 8-1, will battle Glencoe-Silver Lake on Friday. G-SL eliminated Redwood Valley, 40-28.
