Not sure if you can announce this for local events happening in the area, but this Saturday there will be a disc golf tournament in Jackson at the disc golf course. Start time will be 10 am, so players should show up early for warm-up.
Now the following can be added at your discretion.
There will be 3 divisions/classes at 3 different entrance fees. Pro will be $20, Advanced/Intermediate will be $10, and Recreational will only be $5. 100% of fees will be turned around for cash prizes.
In addition to the cash prize a sponsor will be also giving additional prizes, now if you wish not to disclose this following information, that will be ok. VikingCreek.com will be awarding an additional $100 for first place in the Pro Division, a limited edition disc golf bag for first place in the Advanced Divison, and 3 disc golf discs for the Recreational Division.
VikingCreek.com will also be providing lunch during intermission for a $2-3 a plate. Menu will consist of sloppy joes and/or brats with chips and drink. VikingCreek.com will also be selling disc golf bags and discs. Majority of all sales and lunch donations will be given to Sandy Point Disc Golf Course Fund made possible and operated by Clint Froderman of Lakefield.
Sandy Point Disc Golf Course has been approved by the County Board last year provided funds can be raised to purchase the equipment needed. Jackson County Board has not been willing to help fund this course.
Again, this notice is to spread the love of disc golf and bring more people into the sport. So feel free to leave any details out of this announcement, but would like the public aware there is a disc golf tournament this Saturday at the Jackson Disc Golf Course.
