Defending Champions JCC Co-Champs in 2011 (MN Wrestling)

Jackson County Central had to rally against Frazee High School to earn a 28-28 tie and a co-championship in Class A of the Minnesota High School State Wrestling Championships on Friday. JCC won nine matches, including the final two, to pull even. The Huskies defeated Pierz, 59-16, in the quarterfinals and Minneota, 34-25, in the semifinals.

Simley won their third consecutive title in Class AA, while Apple Valley notched their sixth straight in Class AAA.

Friday and Saturday will be the individual wrestling championships. Jackson County Central has five wrestlers who qualified: eighth grader Paden Moore (130), sophomore Darick Vancura (145), junior Cooper Moore (160), and seniors Bronson Steuber (135) and Jordan Phibbs (215). Martin County West has four wrestlers involved: sophomore Trevor Schultz (103), junior Bryan Andrews (152), and seniors Levi Ringell (171) and Payten Crosby (285).
