The 26th-ranked Spencer/Spirit Lake Swim Team
came up just short against 18th-ranked Carroll, 86-84, last night, at the Spencer YMCA.
Spencer/Spirit Lake had seven first place finishes in eleven
events. Taylor Sieperda took first in
both the 100 Freestyle and 100 Backstroke.
She was also part of the first place 200 Medley relay team, which
included Cassidy Fox, Krista Determan, and Emma Dau. Dau claimed the top spot in the 50
freestyle. She was also part of the winning
200 Freestyle relay team, which included Sieperda, Fox, and Abby Goodenow. Fox took first in the 100 breaststroke. Lydia Schooley placed first in the 500
Freestyle.
Jen Will took second in the 200 Freestyle. She was also part of the second-place 400
Freestlye relay team, which included Goodenow, Dau, and Jessica Nelson. Fox placed second in the 100 Butterfly.
The team also had six third place finishes. They’ll compete again, Thursday in Storm Lake,
against Algona and Storm
Lake.
