The Okoboji Girls basketball team went on a 9 – 0 run to close out the first half, and relied on a decisive fourth quarter to beat Emmetsburg, 47-32.
Okoboji had 2 players in double figures, Abby Taylor with 19 and Emily Wintz with 11. Emmetsburg was led by Ashton Connelly with 19 points.
Okoboji is now 12-4 and will be at Central Lyon Tuesday
Emmetsburs is 1-12 and will be at Spencer
The Emmetsburg Boys edged the Pioneers, 48-46. Okoboji led 14 – 8 after the 1st quarter but Emmetsburg had an outstanding 2nd quarter outscoring the pioneers 22 – 11 to led by 5 at half. The 3rd quarter was back and forth and it was a 4 point game going into the 4th. In the fourth quarter Emmetsburg held on by making 5 free throws out of 11. Dalton Syverson did have a chance to tie it at the buzzer but it went off the front of the iron and was rebounded by Emmetsburg as time expired. Okoboji was led by Dalton with 16 points. The pioneers also got 11 from Weston Burgeson and 10 from Alex Heller. Emmetsburg received 15 from Mike Myers, 14 from Jake Jackson and 13 from Michael Pugh.
Okoboji falls to 3-12, Emmetsburg improves to 3-11
The Harris-Lake Park boys registered a 74-54 win over Trinity Christian. The HLP girls won, 66-36.
The South O’Brien boys knocked off Sioux Central, 58-45.
The Laurens Marathon boys topped Hartley-Melvin-Sanborn, 52-33. The HMS girls beat LM 66-27
