Basketball Results from Friday, Jan. 18

The Spirit Lake Boys basketball team beat Storm Lake, 62-58,
last night in overtime. 

 

The Indians trailed by small margins for most of the game,
but got 10 fourth quarter points from reserve Trevor Smith, which included two
three-point baskets, to help Spirit Lake tie the game at 51 in regulation, and
send it into OT.  Smith also hit four
free throws in overtime to help seal the win.

 

Paul Brown led the Indians with 18 points, he made a three
in the overtime period.  Alec Henrickson
had 13, including two free throws in the overtime period.

 

Spirit Lake is on the road, tonight, against Sibley-Ocheydan
, who fell to MOC-Floyd
Valley, last night, 75-31 

 

The Okoboji boys fell to Sheldon, 73-29.  Spencer topped Estherville-Lincoln Central, 51-32.  Hartley Melvin Sanborn downed West Sioux, 57-40.  Harris-Lake
Park trounced Corwith-Wesley-Luverne,
72-30. 

 

The Harris-Lake Park Girls also got a win against
Corwith-Wesley-Luverne.  Noreen Morrow
led the Wolves with 23 points, as they won 59-14.

 

The Spirit
Lake girls beat Storm Lake,
75-18.  All twelve Indian players, who
played, scored for Spirit
Lake.  Emma Dau had a game high 16.  Tonight, they’ll play at Sibley-Ocheydan, who
fell to MOC-Floyd
Valley, 59-20.

 

The Okoboji girls won their fourth straight, as they downed
Sheldon, 62-57 in overtime.

 

Graettinger-Terril/Ruthven Ayrshire fell to North
Union, 48-28.  Estherville-Linclon
Central topped Spencer, 37-29.

Lemars started off the game leading
17 – 0 after the 1st quarter and that was pretty much the beginning
of the end.  Lemars was led by Emily Pick with 16 points.  Emmetsburg got 10
from Alexa Naig.
