Basketball Results from Friday, Dec. 21

The Spirit Lake Boys’ basketball team beat
Estherville-Lincoln Central, 51-47, last night, in double overtime.

 

The Indians got 15 points from Alex Pringnitz and 14 from
Alec Henrickson, as they won their second straight overtime game this week.

 

Spirit
Lake led 33-29, after
three quarters of play, but were outscored 5-1 in the fourth quarter, as the
game was sent into overtime, tied at 34.

 

They had a two point lead in the final seconds of the first
overtime, but ELC’s Matt Burrell scored to tie it at 41 and force a second
overtime.

That’s Indians’ Coach Nate Loenser, whose team outscored
ELC, 10-6, in the second overtime. All ten of those points came from the free
throw line, Paul Brown contributed five.

 

The Spirit
Lake girls fell, 70-36,
to Estherville-Lincoln Central, as the Indians were without their leading
scorer, K.J. Veldman, who was out with a leg injury.  Here’s Coach Rick Reinking.

The Emmetsburg boys and girls teams were both beaten,
soundly by Western Christian.  The score
in the boys’ game was 68-17, the girls’ score was 57-15.

Graettinger-Terril/Ruthven-Ayrshire, 69-42.

Bulder on win over GT/RA

 

That’s HLP assistant girls coach Becca Bulder, after her
team beat GT-RA, 56-43.  Noreen Morrow
led the Wolves with 21 points and 14 rebounds.

The Okoboji boys registered a 48-45 win over
Sibley-Ocheydan.  Here’s Pioneers’ coach

The Okoboji girls topped Sibley-Ocheydan, 44-35.  The girls from North
Union downed West Bend-Mallard, 28-19.
