Basketball Results from Dec. 4

The Spirit Lake Lady Indians got 21 points from senior KJ Veldman, on their way to a 64-35 win over Le Mars in their conference opener, last night.  Here’s Head Coach Rick Reinking.

Kabele scored 14 points and Emma Dau chipped in 13, for the Lady Indians, who won their third straight game to improve to 4-1.

Estherville Lincoln Central topped Emmetsburg, 55-23, behind 17 points from Sara Heywood.  The E’Hawks were led by Ashton Connelly with 14 points.  ELC is now 4 – 1, 1 – 0 and Emmetsburg falls to 0 – 2, 0 – 1. 

Okoboji downed Sheldon, 64-53, they are now 4-1overall, and 3-1 in the conference. Abby Taylor led the Lady Pioneers with 17, Emily Wintz and Darby Jones each scored eleven, Skylar Hansen and Olivia Albright scored ten points apiece. 

Harris-Lake Park knocked off West Bend-Mallard. 42-29; Clay Central-Everly beat Corwith-Wesley-Luverne, 37-20; Storm Lake St. Mary’s beat GT/RA 51 – 39; Sioux Central over Alta Aurelia 38 – 34; Newell Fonda beat Laurens Marathon 69 – 26; MOC-Floyd Valley beat Sibley-Ocheydan, 56-19;  and Spencer beat Cherokee, 52-40.

In Boys Action:

The Spirit Lake Boys suffered their first loss of the season, as Kyle Dolph and Jake Irwin each scored more than 20 points to lead LeMars past the Indians, 68-44.
 

Loenser remains optimistic 

That’s Indians Coach Nate Loenser, whose team got 30 points from sophomore Alec Henrickson.  The Indians are on the road Friday against Storm Lake.  The Girls tip off at 6:15, the Boys will get going around 7:45.

The Estherville-Lincoln Central boys beat Emmetsburg 46 – 42.  Estherville led 17 – 6 after the first quarter and held onto the lead late in the 4th.  They were led by Matt Burrell with 13 points.  Emmetsburg was led by Austin Krause with 12.  ELC is now 2 – 2 on the season, while Emmetsburg drops to 1 – 1.  Estherville will host Spencer on Friday, while Emmetsburg plays host to Lemars.
