Area Softball Players Reel in Postseason Honors

A high number of area softball players were able to garner high praise for their efforts in 2010. Okoboji seniors Keely Bracelin and Makenzi Anderson were both named to the Class 2A Northwest All-District Team. Bracelin struck out 200 batters en route to a 1.41 ERA and 21 wins as the Pioneers’ top pitcher. Anderson led the way offensively with a .400 average, 21 RBI and two home runs. A senior trio of Emmetsburg EHawks were also on the All-District Team. They were Maddison Woodruff, Alex Lock, and Nicole Hasbrouck. Estherville-Lincoln Central’s Kendall Bosch rounds out the list of area athletes, as the sophomore was selected as a pitcher. Woodruff and Lock also garnered First Team All-State honors in Class 2A, while Hasbrouck found herself on the Third Team. Honorable Mention All-State honors went to junior Morgan Vlasman of Emmetsburg, seniors Aubrie Rozenboom, Kayla Orthmann, and Stefanie Heitritter from Hartley-Melvin-Sanborn, Bracelin and Anderson of Okoboji, and Sibley-Ocheyedan seniors Kim Jacobsma and Danelle Miedema.
