Algona Cross Country Invite Results

Spirit Lake High School’s Will Norris set a new school and
course record, yesterday at the Algona Cross Country Invitational, as he led
the Indian boys team to a fifth place finish overall.  The Spencer boys took seventh, Okoboji placed
eleventh, and Emmetsburg claimed 16th.

 

Norris placed first among the boys.  His record-setting time was 15:30.  Spencer’s Ryan Bauermeister took third, his
time was 15:59.  Spirit Lake’s
Tanner Goetsch placed seventh in 16:38.

 

As for the girls, Spencer’s Cierra Guerrero took third,
behind Tiffany Christensen, of Eagle Grove, and Sam Larson, of Humboldt.  Guerrero’s time was 15:05.  The Spencer Girls’ team took first overall, as
the Lady Tigers had five finishers in the top 30.

Spirit
Lake’s Dondi Schmidt and
Mariah Wills placed fifth and seventh, respectively.  Schmidt’s time was 15:30, which is a school
record at this Algona course.  Wills’
time was 15:41.

 

Okoboji’s Clare Eckard finished ninth, in 15:47.

 

The Spirit
Lake girls’ team placed
sixth overall, Emmetsburg took ninth, and Okoboji claimed thirteenth.
