The Iowa Girls Coaches Association has released its 2012 All-District softball teams, and numerous northwest Iowa stars made the cut. The Class 3A West team features Spirit Lake junior slugger Paige Krause, along with Estherville-Lincoln Central stars Emily Kirchner and Kendall Bosch, a junior and senior, respectively. Midgets head coach Megan Anderson also received praised, being named the District Coach of the Year after taking ELC to a fourth-place finish.
The Class 2A Northwest squad features Okoboji senior pitcher Mikkinzie Peschong, Emmetsurg senior hurler Faith Schmidt, and junior outfielder Jessica Stofferan of Hartley-Melvin-Sanborn. The team also includes three players from North Union, Allie Ingalls (Jr, P), Collete Haag (Jr, IF), and Cheyanne Boland (Jr, C). Warriors coach Art Ingalls was named the District Coach of the Year.
